Release Party plans finally in place!

Sectus 2007 is pleased to announce the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Reading Party, in association with a Fiction Alley, the web's largest archive of Harry Potter-specific fanfiction and art.

To celebrate the release of the final Harry Potter book during the conference, the venue will be open from 10pm on Friday July 20th. In the run-up to midnight, there will be themed entertainments, including a last-minute theory competition.

When the clock strikes midnight, the wait will finally be over and pre-ordered books, which are being delivered direct to the venue, will be handed out.

The building will then remain open throughout the night, with various areas available for reading and discussing the book for those who want to dive straight in.

Anyone attending Sectus can now order their copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows through the conference website, but hurry, because there is only a limited number available.

We look forward to welcoming you to the ultimate book release party!

okay, sounds good!
I have a question though, in the original planning we were able to go to OotP with a big group on Friday night, I hope we're still going to do that (if not on Friday maybe on some other night?)

I would also like to go OOTP, if there's a group going. I'm looking forward to the release party!! Does anyone know how many people are signed up for Sectus as of now?? Just curious.

Unfortunately, I signed up too late to pre-order Deathly Hollows through Sectus. Will Sectus only be getting as many books as are pre-ordered or will there be extras? If not, I guess I will have to try and find another place to try and get it. *wibbles at the thought of being a lost yank in London searching for book 7*

Unfortunately we can't get extra books, because we have to pay for them all. There might be leftovers, though - drop Anne a line (bookings [at] sectus.org) and she'll be able to let you know.

If not, we're only minutes' walk from bookshops that will be having midnight openings, so there won't be any problems with you being able to find a book. No doubt there will be others in the same boat as well :-)
